BEAR HUNTING
At Ridgway Outfitters and Guide Service we use the method of hunting from tree stands or ground blinds over bait sites. The stands are generally 12-15 feet high and are positioned for a 10 to 15-yard shot. Baiting begins well in advance of the season. Enough active bear baits are maintained so that the hunter can be moved from one stand to another if necessary to improve his chances for the trophy of a lifetime. I alone do the entire site selection and baiting. We leave for hunting areas after lunch and hunt until dark. The majority of bears sited are seen during the hours prior to sunset. Trail timers and other equipment is used to maximize hunter success. In the event that your trophy does not fall within sight, we have a trained bloodhound to make recovery all but assured. We will also assist in the skinning of your trophy after it is back in camp. Ridgway Outfitters and Guide Service will do all the work so you can enjoy your hunt and the beautiful state of Maine.
BEAR HUNTING OVER BAIT: $1500 A $400 deposit is required when making reservations. Deposits are non-refundable. Balance is due upon arrival and is to be paid by certified check or cash. Personal checks are welcome for deposits only. |
